301-forward a domain

Apex and www to an https URL. Not a quote. Mail MX stays.

Safe to try in the sandbox
On Fairverra, 301-forward [domain] apex and www to [url]. First get_url_forward. This is not a quote. Mail MX records stay; the current website on @ and www will stop. Wait for my explicit yes before set_url_forward. If you get WEB_DNS_CONFLICT, show dns.current and wait for another yes before replace_web_records true. Custom nameservers mean dns_required: save the flag, do not change DNS. disable_url_forward does not restore a previous site (parking page stays).

Safe to try in the sandbox (simulated registrar, no real domains). Sandbox quickstart.

  • Change nameservers — Point the domain at another nameserver group. Wrong hosts take DNS and mail offline.
  • Use Fairverra DNS — Put the domain on dns-fairverra1 so record tools work.
